Simple VNC is our internal support application that allows us to monitor and remote control client computers without firewall configuration. It provides us with an overview of each organisation we support as well as a complete asset list so we can quickly resolve issues.

Development on Simple VNC has been on going for about two and a half years, at an estimated development cost of around £109,200. We are constantly looking for ways to improve our IT to stay responsive to our clients problems, while staying ahead of our competition.

Simple VNC is being upgraded to make it cross platform, as at the moment it can only be used on Windows desktops and servers. After this we are planning to update the monitoring tools within Simple VNC to notify the clients as well as ourselves to possible problems on servers and desktops. 

We are looking to open source Simple VNC as an IT enterprise monitoring and reporting tool towards the end of 2009.
