Role model for budding entrepreneurs

Simple IT Solutions' Managing Director, Graham Bacon attended the Enterprise Show in York to act as a role model for budding entrepreneurs in the region.

The Enterprise Shows, which take place in four locations around Yorkshire, offer people advice and information about starting their own business. Some of the region's leading business advisory organisations are in attendance at the shows, including Business Link, UK Trade and Investment and HM Revenues and Customs.

The role models at the shows in York are there to share real life experiences about setting up and running a business, telling future entrepreneurs what the experience is really like. Graham from Simple IT met a wide range of people at the York show, who all had some great business ideas that they were looking to get off the ground.

Graham said: " Being a role model at the Enterprise Show was a really rewarding experience. It was great to see that the current climate doesn't seem to have dampened entrepreneurial spirit in the area. Hopefully hearing about my experience of setting up Simple IT Solutions has given people a realistic view of the ups and downs of setting up a company, and it will be great to see some of the innovative ideas that I heard about coming to fruition."

Website Build for Property Firm

Simple IT Solutions have completed three content managed websites for Wakefield property company Magna Holdings Ltd.

Simple IT Solutions have just built Magna Holdings' new company website, www.magnaholdings.co.uk, which is based on their in-house software Simple CMS. The site has been designed specifically so it can be edited and updated frequently to reflect the new building plots, office space and development opportunities that Magna have.

Simple IT have also built two smaller sites for Dalton Mills in Keighley and the Charles Roberts Office Park in Wakefield, which are also owned by Magna Holdings. They are hoping to develop these sites using their CMS system to provide a more interactive platform for current tenants in the office parks.

Manchester-based company, Atrium Legal have chosen Simple IT Solutions to create their new website.

Atrium Legal are a new company, which specialises in industrial disease claims for people who have developed a disease or injured themselves through the course of their work. As a new company, Atrium Legal required a content-managed website that can be updated easily, which reflected the branding and ethos of their company.

Simple IT Solutions are currently developing the website, which should be on-line by the beginning of April.

Last month, Simple IT were contacted by Atrium Legal to design a sleek, user-friendly site which reflected the company's identity.

The site is now up and running in record time and can be viewed at http://www.atriumlegal.co.uk/. Atrium Legal is a new company, which has been set up to deal with industrial disease claims, such as Asbestosis, Vibration white finger or accidents at work.

Atrium Legal were looking for a modern looking site, which was easy to navigate, with a contact form to make it easy for visitors to begin the claim process.

Simple IT Solutions meet budding entrepreneurs in Leeds

Graham Bacon, Simple IT’s Managing Director was one of six role models at the shows in Leeds, talking to the city’s potential entrepreneurs about the real-life experience of running a business.

This was the second of the four Enterprise shows, which Graham has attended. The shows are run by Business Link, and funded by Yorkshire Forward, to promote enterprise in the region.

The show in Leeds, which took place at Millenium Square, was a huge success, despite the recession, with over 1000 people attending to find out about setting up their own business.

Graham said: “Once again, I was very impressed with the calibre of business ideas from the people that I spoke to. I hope that I was able offer some useful hints and tips about the reality of being self-employed. At the Leeds show, there seemed to be a lot of IT related business ideas, so I’m expecting to be acquiring a lot more business competition very soon!”

Meeting New Business Talent in Humberside

Graham will be at the shows at City Hall in Hull on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th April to act as a role model for budding entrepreneurs in Humberside. He will be talking to prospective business owners about the reality of running their own company and offering some advice and encouragement.

The last two shows in Leeds and York have been a success so Graham is looking forward to an equally interesting two days in Hull.
